Job Description

The ICNA Convention is one of North America’s largest annual gatherings of Muslims, providing a

lively weekend of spiritual inspiration, educational sessions, family activities, and community

networking. It features renowned scholars, interactive workshops, youth and children’s programs, a

bustling bazaar, and opportunities for professional and social connections. Aimed at strengthening Islamic

identity, promoting unity, and addressing current issues faced by the Muslim community, the convention

attracts thousands of participants from various backgrounds, making it a key event for faith-based

learning, community development, and personal growth.

We are seeking two Youth Outreach Coordinators who will play a vital role in expanding the reach and

impact of ICNA Canada’s mission through strategic relationship-building and active youth engagement.

This position focuses on developing partnerships with Muslim Student Organizations at various

universities and other key stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a community-oriented professional with a

passion for youth development, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of Muslim

community dynamics in Canada. It is a part-time position with flexible hours. The maximum workload is

approximately 20-25 hours per week, and compensation will be 20 CAD per hour. Most of the work can

be done from home, as it will primarily involve online or phone-based tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Community & Donor Engagement:

  • Build and strengthen relationships with MSA’s, Youth community leaders, Youth from different

mosques to market the convention of ICNA Canda.

  • Proactively engage with youth groups, MSA’s and Islamic Centers to identify opportunities for

collaboration, outreach, and joint initiatives.

Resource Development:

  • Research and identify potential MSA’s and youth leaders
  • Collaborate with leadership to plan and implement innovative and effective marketing strategies

to meet goals.

Event Planning & Campaigns:

  • Lead the planning and execution of community-based events, campaigns, and youth programs in

mosques and Islamic institutions to discuss the convention and how the MSA’s can be participate

in the convention.

  • Coordinate logistics, promotional materials, and volunteer teams to ensure high-quality event

delivery.

  • Monitor event performance, attendance, and feedback to inform future engagement strategies.Volunteer Management:
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of committed volunteers to assist with events,

campaigns, and outreach activities.

  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for volunteers, ensuring their skills are

utilized effectively.

Administrative & Organizational Support:

  • Collaborate with internal teams to align outreach efforts with broader organizational goals.
  • Provide timely reports, updates, and recommendations to management on how to engage MSAs

Qualifications:

  • University/ College student with a passion to work with the youth/MSAs
  • 2+ years of experience working in MSAs
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian Muslim community and cultural/religious sensitivities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including grant writing and donor

communication.

  • Proven ability to build relationships, inspire stakeholders, and lead community-based initiatives.
  • Event planning and project coordination experience is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with donor management software is an asset.
