Job Description

This role is responsible for providing education to students attending Al-Falah Islamic

School on behalf of Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) Canada. You will report to

the Principal of Al-Falah Islamic School.

Al-Falah Islamic School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Quran and Arabic

Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Quranic

studies and Arabic language, with a commitment to nurturing a love for the Quran

and Arabic in students. This role involves teaching students from diverse backgrounds

and varying levels of proficiency.

Responsibilities:

● Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in Quranic studies and Arabic

language.

● Teach the reading, understanding, and memorization of the Quran.

● Instruct students in Arabic, including grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension.

● Utilize communicative teaching methods to support second language acquisition

effectively.

● Incorporate modern strategies and resources to accommodate various learning

styles and abilities.

● Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with the

school’s educational standards and Islamic values.

● Create lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.

● Monitor and supervise students during the times prescribed.

● Maintain appropriate standards of behavior, mutual respect, and safety within

the classroom.

● Conduct both formal and informal ongoing assessments of students, including

report cards and progress reports.

● Cultivate a learning environment that reflects the school’s moral code and

values.

● Attend professional development activities, training workshops, and school

events organized by Al-Falah Islamic School.

● Maintain a neat, organized, and orderly classroom environment.

● Maintain open communication with parents, guardians, and school staff

regarding student progress and any concerns.

● Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the educational experience of students.

● Perform other related duties as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications::

● Bachelor’s degree in Islamic/Quranic Studies, Arabic Language, or equivalent.

● Formal certification in Quranic studies (Ijazah) is highly preferred.

● Experience in teaching Quran and Arabic to students of various ages and

proficiency levels.

● Familiarity with contemporary educational practices, technology, and second

language acquisition strategies.

● Proficiency in communicative teaching methods that promote interaction and

language practice.

● Strong understanding of Quranic interpretation and Tajweed (proper

pronunciation and recitation).

● Ability to inspire and motivate students to foster a love for the Quran and

Arabic.

● Strong organizational and time management skills.

● Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).

● Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

● Ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships with students, parents,

and colleagues.

● Ability to hold and handle confidential information securely and sensitively.

● Capacity to work effectively both as a team player and independently.

● Provide lessons that cater to students’ needs, interests, and abilities.

● Must have Canadian citizenship or Permanent Resident status.

 

Pay: CA$48,000.00-CA$52,000.00 per year
