Yes, a fee of $20 is required to audition.

Yes, convention tickets will be covered for all participants.

Yes, the winning candidates will receive monetary rewards. In addition, participants will be awarded with the opportunity to participate in mentoring sessions with professional artists in their respective fields. The prizes will be awarded to the top three finalists across all categories combined, based on the judges’ overall evaluation. There will be one first-place winner, one second-place winner, and one third-place winner, regardless of the category.

You must be 15+ to participate. 

Yes, transportation and accommodation costs will be covered for the selected participants who live outside of Ontario. 

ICNA Canada will provide ongoing support and training to participants after the conference has ended to encourage continuous improvement of skills and indulge in new opportunities outside of ICNA Canada.

We are seeking a wide range of talents in the following categories:

  • Performing Arts: Poetry, spoken word, nasheed singing, stand-up comedy, puppetry, storytelling, rapping, acting/skits, etc.
  • Creative Arts or Fine Arts: Painting, sculpture, pottery, architecture, photography, live art (speed painting/drawing, etc.).

●  Writing & Oratory: Cartooning, poetry, essay writing, story writing, TED talk-style presentations, etc.

  • Performing Arts: Submit a video file (MP4 or MOV) not exceeding 10 minutes.
  • Creative Arts/Fine Arts: Submit high-resolution images (JPEG, PNG, or PDF) of your work. Ensure that the images clearly represent the details of your art.
  • Writing & Oratory: Submit a previously written work in PDF format, If submitting a video for oratory (TED-style talk), the video should be in MP4 or MOV format for the first round of auditions. If selected, you will be contacted with a topic for which you will compose a second draft for the second round of auditions.
  • Performing Arts: Creativity, originality, performance quality, and adherence to the time limit.
  • Creative Arts / Fine Arts: Artistic skill, creativity, composition, and the ability to convey a message or emotion through the work.
  • Writing & Oratory: Clarity of thought, creativity, coherence, and impact of the message or story. For spoken word and TED-style talks, delivery and presentation will also be considered.

Shortlisted candidates will be given a specific theme or topic to prepare new work, which will be assessed in a live-video streaming audition. Judges will evaluate these submissions, and the top five candidates will be selected to perform live on stage at the ICNA Canada Annual Convention. No, ICNA does not send invitations to help with visas.

No, you should bring appropriate food for your child or pick them up for lunch.

No, lunch is not included in the registration fee, but halal food will be available for purchase.
