NOTE: Candidate Ticket Includes Convention Entry

The Objective

To facilitate meaningful connections for the purpose of marriage in a respectful and Islamic environment.

Pre Event

Registration:

  • Participants must register in advance, providing basic information and consent.
  • ID numbers on the information card and one entry token will be provided to them in the registration packet.

Profile Creation:

  • Participants create profiles, including bio, and preferences.

Screening:

  • Organizers review profiles for compatibility and authenticity.

On the Day of the Event

  • Welcome, Introduction, rules, and expectations.
  • Tazkeer (10 minutes) to provide pointers for a successful marriage.
  • Organizers facilitate communication between interested matches.
  • Break for prayers, refreshments, and relaxation.
  • Collect feedback forms. Announce next steps.
  • May Allah guide and bless the matches made!

Guidelines

Introduction:

  • Each male candidate will introduce themselves Insha Allah (one minute per candidate). Instructions will be provided to them on how to properly introduce themselves in the limited time allowed.
  • Male candidates are not allowed to contact the female candidates or their wali in the event hall on their own.
  • Female candidates are not required to come to the podium for the introductions. They should remain seated in the hall with their wali/guardians at assigned tables and introduce themselves.
  • They can make a note of the name and ID number of the candidates they would like to meet and give that information to the volunteers present who will facilitate their meetings with those individuals during the family meeting portion of the event.
  • During the main event, candidates will not be allowed to go in/out unless there is a genuine emergency.
  • Please inform ICNA-Matrimonial floor volunteers if you have any concerns or need help with any aspect of the event.

Break:

  • There will be a short break after all the introductions are over.
  • Volunteers will guide the male candidates to meet the females who are interested in them.

Family Meeting:

  • The moderator will guide the male candidates to proceed meeting the interested females and their wali for further Introductions and information exchange. The volunteers will assist this meeting in orderly manner.
  • 5 minutes per candidate for quick introduction.
  • Please be respectful of other candidates and the privacy of the family meetings and follow the strict time limit for the meetings.
  • No audio/video recording or still-photography is allowed inside the event hall.
  • No exchange of personal contact information during the event.
  • No friends or extra family members are allowed in the event hall except legal guardians/parents/Wali.

Tips for Participants:

  • Be open-minded and honest. There is no pressure or obligation on you of any kind.
  • Ask meaningful questions. Focus on compatibility and shared values. Listen actively.
  • Be respectful and courteous. Keep conversations halal (permissible).
  • Confidentiality: Respect the other participants' privacy.
  • And finally, pray to Allah SWT for guidance.
