Omar Zia is currently a High School Principal in Peel and a part-time instructor at Queen's University. He was a Guidance Counsellor for ten years and has taught ESL, Special Education, Science & English. Further, Omar Zia is on the council for the Muslim Educators Network of Ontario and is the Chair of the Muslim Employees Association of Peel. Omar Zia has an avid interest in equity and inclusion work as it pertains to disrupting and dismantling racism and colonial practices that hinder students' success. Omar Zia is a member of the clergy and supports several community-based programs for Muslim-identifying youth.
