Job Description

ICNA Relief Canada (IRC) is a department of ICNA Canada that works in community
and social development. The Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) is federally
registered as a charitable organization in Canada. We have built a widely respected
reputation through our community welfare work. IRC is dedicated to reaching out
at home and abroad through a wide range of aid and rehabilitation projects; in
particular, IRC endeavours to respond effectively to victims of natural disasters
internationally. ICNA Relief Canada is hiring a Fund Development Coordinator for
the Quebec, Ottawa & Kingston Region. The Fund Development Coordinator will
play a significant role in supporting ICNA Relief Canada’s fundraising efforts. This
role identifies potential funding sources, builds relationships with donors and
sponsors, and coordinates events and fundraising campaigns. The role requires
strategic planning skills and effective communication abilities and is essential in
securing financial support to cultivate the organization’s goals further.

Responsibilities:
• Develop relationships with current and prospective donors, sponsors,
funding organizations, and Mosques.
• Research and identify potential funding sources, including grants, corporate
sponsorships, Mosques, individual donors, and fundraising events.
• Cultivate new partnerships to broaden community outreach and engage
with new donors.
• Engage with Islamic organizations, NGOs, Charities, Islamic Centers,
professional associations, and other groups to promote and discuss possible
opportunities, leveraging networking skills to expand reach and impact for
ICNA Relief and its cause.
• Coordinate fundraising campaigns and events, including donor outreach,
fundraising at Mosques, logistics, and promotional activities.
• Track and report on fundraising activities, including donor contributions,
event attendance, and campaign outcomes.
• Recruit and train a team of volunteers for planning and executing events
• Prepare grant proposals, sponsorship packages, and other funding requests
per donor requirements and guidelines.
• Assist in developing and implementing fundraising strategies to meet the
organization’s revenue targets and objectives.

• Provide exceptional customer service to donors via phone, email, and in-
person interactions.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in our database, ensuring
confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
• Process donations and send out timely acknowledgments and tax receipts.
• Support the executive team and board of directors in donor management
and cultivation efforts.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure a cohesive and positive
experience for our donors and supporters.

Qualifications:
● Degree in Non-profit Management, Business Administration, Communications,
or a related field.
● Proven experience in fundraising, event planning, donor relations, or related
roles within the sector.
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective engagement with
donors and stakeholders via written, phone, and email interactions.
● Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
simultaneously.
● Knowledge of ethical fundraising practices and regulatory requirements.
● Proficiency in using CRM systems and digital communication tools for efficient
fundraising management.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
● Passion for the mission and values of the organization.
● Ability to work independently, with 70% of the work conducted out of the office
and 30% in the office

Nice-to-have Skills:
• Familiarity with email marketing best practices.
• Experience in utilizing Salesforce for donor relationship management.
• Knowledge of market trends in fundraising and philanthropy.
• Understanding of digital marketing strategies for non-profit organizations.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
Additional pay: Overtime pay
Benefits: Extended health care, Paid time off.
Schedule: 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday, Weekends as needed
Ability to commute/relocate: Ottawa, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate
before starting work (preferred)
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (required)

Experience: Fund Development: 3 years (required)
License/Certification: Driving Licence (required)

Working Condition:
• General office environment (prolonged sitting/eye strain from computer use,
deadlines, indoor air quality/temperatures, lighting, etc.)

• Lifting heavy objects repeatedly
• Exposure to chemicals, fuel, fumes, or bulk lubricants
