Job Description

Al-Falah School is seeking a passionate and skilled Part-Time STEM & Coding
Teacher to deliver engaging lessons in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), and
coding to students from Grades 1–8. The ideal candidate will inspire curiosity, creativity, and critical
thinking, while fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Working Hours:
● Part-time, Up to 25 hours per
week.

Key Responsibilities:

● Plan, prepare, and deliver hands-on STEM and coding lessons aligned with the Ontario
Curriculum for Coding and STEM
● Integrate age-appropriate coding platforms, robotics, and technology-based projects into
lessons.
● Develop long-range plans for the STEM & Coding program and maintain an organized system for
tracking student progress.
● Create and manage a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.
● Use project-based and inquiry-based learning approaches to develop students’ problem-solving
and collaboration skills.
● Provide timely feedback and assessment of student work.
● Maintain up-to-date Google Classroom pages with clear instructions, assignments, and
resources.
● Strong knowledge of age-appropriate coding platforms (e.g., Scratch, Python, Html, Javascript,
LEGO Robotics).
● Collaborate with other teachers to integrate STEM concepts across subjects where appropriate.
● Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and participate in school events as
required.

Qualifications and Skills:
● Bachelor’s degree in Education, Computer Science, STEM-related field, or equivalent.
● Ontario Teaching Certification is an asset.
● Experience teaching STEM and coding to elementary students.
● Strong knowledge of age-appropriate coding platforms (e.g., Scratch, Python, LEGO Robotics).
● Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
● Ability to inspire and engage students with varying learning needs.
● Collaborative and flexible team player with a positive attitude.
● Proficient in managing and deploying Chrome OS teaching features, including the ability to
lock student screens to specific applications (e.g., Kiosk mode or equivalent) for secure testing
and focused learning.
